Child of the Universe is the fourth studio album by Australian singer–songwriter Delta Goodrem. It was released on 26 October 2012 by Sony Music. The album was preceeded by its three singles: "Sitting on Top of the World", "Dancing with a Broken Heart", and "Wish You Were Here".

 

The album was originally in pre-production and writing stages in 2008 while Goodrem was in the United States, and was expected to be released in 2010 at some point. However, after some personal issues and moving countries the album was delayed. Goodrem said the album would be out "soon" and eventually said it would be out in late 2011. The album was again pushed back and said to be out early 2012. Although this didn't happen due to her role as a coach on The Voice Australia. The album was made available to stream in full through iTunes for free on 19 October 2012 and officially released a week later on 26 October 2012 in Australia and New Zealand. Currently, there has been no mention of a release in other countries even though Goodrem previously promised a return to the UK and Europe. The release of the album was almost exactly five years since her previous studio release, Delta, which was released on 20 October 2007. Goodrem will promote the album with a series of live concerts titled An Evening with Delta Goodrem. Three dates have been annonced, starting with Brisbane the day after the album's release on 27 October 2012, with Sydney following on 31 October 2012 and finishing with Melbourne on 7 November 2012.
